Sometimes, i wish i was a dude. Seriously.

Guys have it pretty easy.
Put on a nice shirt, a nice belt, a nice pair of shoes, a nice watch and have a nice hairdo and you look really nice. Not too much to ask for, isn't it? For this post, i shall put in some pictures of guy outfits that i really like. And yes, ladies like their men to be able to dress up and look good!

All these photos are not my own, they are taken from lookbook.nu because there, you can find the most amazingly dressed people.

Yellow high socks and green doc martens. I like the quirkiness of this outfit.

Handsome guy with a handsome sense of style!

This outfit is not very applicable in Singapore. I'm sure you'd get a heat stroke with all those clothes on. However, layering clothes always works wonders.

Perfect example: Throw on a nice top, a pair of jeans and accessorize a little.
Simple can still be amazing.

I hope this post will encourage the guys to dress up and put in a bit of effort in looking good, because what you wear and your appearance really contributes to the kind of impression that people have of you.
Everyone is beautiful, you just have to bring that beauty out. (:

Far from being normal.

Hello.

So i'm sure many of you have watched the recent Grammy Awards and laughed at Lady gaga's arrival on the red carpet. She arrived in a 'womb', some people thought it was a translucent egg. Why are we not surprised. Lady gaga is a style icon. And this post is all about her weird, funky and not so ordinary sense of style.

Lady gaga's style has a very individual and exclusive style.

Everything she wears shouts out to you. However, i think that it isn't very practical to be wearing outfits like hers in Singapore. Especially since we're all just regular people with regular lives.

The above are some outfits that were inspired by Lady Gaga.

Although Kate Middleton has replaced her as the highest ranking fashion buzzword, Lady gaga always brings amusement with her outfits.

"Don't be a drag, be a queen." -Lady Gaga

Hairstyles

It's the christmas season and it's time to doll yourself up! In this post, i will be posting on hairstyles for formal or casual weekend looks. As a girl, i love my hair. I will spend heaps of money and time just for my hair. I would sit at the salon and do my hair all day long.

Firstly, the braid. It's a very chic hairstyle. You can try the french braid along the side of your head for a very roman yet casual look. This hairstyle would go well on night outs with your girlfriends or a dinner date with someone special.

Secondly, the messy bun. This look is very easy to accomplish. It can be either a low or a high bun. Take your strands of hair and twist them into a tight bun, using a rubber band to tie around the bun. Leave the loose strands down, or hanging along the side of your head for a messy and sweet look.

Thirdly, the ponytail. This is the easiest look of all. Be it tied up in a high ponytail or a low side ponytail, both looks are good with girls who have long hair. You can add a headband or a statement clip for a more detailed look.

Lastly, you can relax and let your hair down. If you constantly tie your hair up, do let it down more often as you should let your hair relax and be easy on your roots.

Style in Polytechnics

These shots are taken at Temasek Polytechnic. All of them are students in TP.

High waist shorts + tank top

Tank top, peg-legged pants and denim vest

Tank top with leggings/ Rainbow maxi dress

Accessories from flea markets.

Minimalist: Comfy wear
Whole outfit from Topman, bag from Paris.

Tank top and shorts, common dressing among girls in polytechnics.
Left: Top from punkstar, shorts- thrifted.
Right: Top- Blogshop, shorts- Cotton on, Bag- Baggu.

Smart street dressing.
He is wearing Nudies jeans, Doc Martens boots and a Forever 21 men's checkered shirt.

Polytechnic students are becoming more and more style conscious. The ladies are wearing more high-waisted shorts, peg-legged pants, sheer chiffon tops, maxi dresses and boots. On can't-be-bothered-to-dress-up days, they simply throw on an oversized t-shirt/sweater paired with a pair of shorts. Dudes have it easy, unlike the ladies.

Here's a list of blogshops that sell nice clothes and you can gain inspiration from their outfits as well.

Personal view towards Fashion and Style.

Styles, trends, fashion. They change so rapidly, transforming so constantly. When i was still in primary school, i recall bootcut jeans being extremely
popular- they were today's equivalent of skinny jeans. Then came straight cuts and skinnies, in all kinds of color. Some faded and patterned, some ripped and torn. The huge transformation of style applies to almost every piece of clothing. From jeans and leggings to dresses and skirts, to even the most basic piece of all- the t-shirt.
Honestly, it is tough to keep up with the ever-changing world of fashion. I am not a designer, neither am i a huge fashion junkie, i do love to read style magazines and put outfits together,
but other than that: It's best to look presentable and feel comfortable.

Here are a few magazines that i like to read for my fashion fix:
For the ladies- Teen Vogue, Elle, Company, Nylon.
For the men- Company, Nylon.
